Herbert Crist was an amazing man and many peoples hero. He fought a battle bigger than the war,a battle many people could never endure. For Herb there was nothing was more important to him than his family. He was an amazing husband of 27 years, a terrific and wonderful father of 2, and a perfect grandfather to 6. A beloved brother, uncle and friend to many. He loved to play music and sing, as smiles to our faces he always did bring. Although we miss him we know he is free of pain, as when he entered heavens gates a new body he did gain. He taught us how to be our best, To in the moment live. a loyal husband, father and friendship he fully did give. He kept his face turned toward the sunshine, trapped in a body that only knew rain. And chose to see the joys in life in spite of constant pain. He lived life and though his body was often connected to needles, machines and tubes. He bravely faced each day with them while expressing gratitude. For the chance of simply being here, though to us it didn't seem fair. To see someone as special as he was suffer in a body beyond repair. So when he honorably completed every trial he was assigned, God chose to bring him back to him freeing his bright spirit and mind.

I'm sorry you lost your dad. All of us who knew him lost someone special. I left a comment on Corby's youtube tribute, so I'll just leave it here too. I was shocked when I saw Herbs obit in our paper. I was his friend when we worked together at Ramsey in Sullivan. We were gigging buddies. Herb was always "on". Silly, funny, good hearted, talented, street smart. We lost touch 15 or so years ago. He was having health problems then. I'm sorry I didn't keep in touch. It will always be my loss. He still makes me smile, when I think of him. Rest easy old friend,

"Herbie"

I'm sorry you suffered so long, we just didn't want you to go. You never complained and when I came to
see you, your smile lit up the room. You let me comb
your beautiful hair, how close I felt to you there. I will miss you, but I know you are whole again, without pain, hanging out with Teddy, Mom and Dad. I imagine a jam session going on. Make sure you tell
them all hello, and Jeanie and LeeAnne too. Take care,
my brother, and RIP.
Love, Ginger
